All our associates have been thoroughly assessed by NHS Flexible Resourcing. We stay in close touch with them, and you while they are on an assignment, to ensure that all is going well and that they have all the support they need.

  • Associate 1

    This Associate has had an extensive NHS career, latterly with five years as chief executive of a PCT and five years as a Director of Commissioning. She has considerable experience of leading strategic developments for mental health, learning disability, elderly, community and women and child health services and in building relationships to support strategic alliances. She has particular skills in leadership development, complex change management, strategic service redesign, coaching and supporting individuals and bringing a strong value based approach to managing and developing people.

    She joined the private sector in 2005 leading service and business development and supporting PFI and in 2007 became an independent consultant. She has recently successfully delivered a wide range of consultancy and project support to health organisations including; Isle of Wight PCT - long term conditions service improvement; Haringey PCT - provider services review and London South Bank University - review of GP continuing care.

    She has excellent business and organisational skills and really enjoys leading and managing multi professional teams. Alongside her consultancy activity She is also a Trustee of The Avenues Trust, caring for people in the community with mental health problems and with learning disabilities. She is currently engaged in coaching trainee consultant practitioners in service improvement and also in supporting NHS clinicians in Cambodia.

    A highly qualified and experienced Director and Independent Consultant with well developed leadership, communication and change management skills. She has worked extensively across health and social care to develop joint strategic commissioning arrangements; implement Efficiency and Improvement Programmes and deliver outcome focused personalised services in partnership with a diverse range of stakeholders.

    She has specialist expertise in adult PCT and social care personalisation, individual budgets and strategic commissioning; promoting health and well being across local authorities and health; service developments for older people; mental health and learning disabilities commissioning and long term conditions. Chair Joint Commissioning Boards to deliver joint commissioning priorities and action plans through partnership working. She led an integration project with PCT to develop new joint strategic commissioning arrangements, renegotiated Section 75 agreements for mental health and learning disability services, developed the section 256 agreement and led mediation for learning disabilities transfer.

    She has also led a qualitative project into the End of Life experiences of people living with long-term neurological conditions, which delivered a report and 12 recommendations to a stakeholder event and local commissioners, and was commended with an NHS Award, developed reablement services and integrated out of hours services, and was Emergency Planning lead on pandemic flu response.

    As National Workforce Lead Department of Health she worked on the Independent Sector Treatment Centre Programme, Fairness in Primary Care, and Framework for External Support to PCTs and other national procurements which are part of the reform and investment in healthcare outline in the NHS Plan

    This associate is a former senior manager in the NHS with many years experience in organisational and personal development, partnership working and organisational change. She is a qualified coach and counsellor.

    She left the NHS in January 2009 to further develop her own business in coaching and development. She currently coaches senior NHS managers, facilitates team development, learning sets, PCT Provider Board development and undertakes organisation development projects. She has designed a workshop aiming to encourage a ‘self coaching’ approach and has run this in the NHS, voluntary sector and as an open course.

    Following her early career in acute and GP services,she has established an impressive NHS leadership track record including ten years at chief executive level. She is a well known senior figure with excellent networks and contemporary knowledge and understanding of the national policy agenda - her understanding of the sector is excellent and she knows how to get things done.

    Over recent years she has led or supported a significant number of national initiatives including; Co-Lead on World Class Commissioning and Community Health Services work stream, supporting national Integrated Care Organisation Pilot Programme & national workforce initiative to integrate workforce into national PCT Assurance system. She also brings a wealth of knowledge around organisational and leadership development programmes (including executive coaching) and the experience to support organisations to deliver positive, effective relationship management across whole systems.

    A very experienced interim Programme Director, who has a proven ability to manage complex business change and service improvement programmes. He has worked extensively across all sectors within the Health arena and has worked closely alongside a number of Chief Executives, Managing Directors and senior management teams.

    He is well respected with significant experience in Public (Health), Government (MOD), Blue Chip & Private sector organisations, working in roles which focus on developing strategic solutions across the whole organisational range. His specialist skills extend to designing, leading & project managing business planning, FT applications, CIP’s, service rationalisation & improvement initiatives.

    His work has extended nationally including working in non-EU countries and is currently DV security cleared. He works from a premise that relies upon a detailed understanding of knowing the importance of translating organisational aims into operational activities, which are both meaningful and achievable.

    A former senior nurse within acute and primary care services and Director and Lead Officer for a charity, with over ten years’ experience at board level, providing strategic, managerial and professional leadership. More recently has experience of running a business and working independently, working towards a Post Graduate Certificate (PGC) in personal and business coaching.

    An energetic and visionary innovator, who has developed a set of operational competencies and skills through working in a variety of settings and senior roles. Experience includes helping organisations with service review, organisation and board development, strategic and business planning, professional development and education, project management, quality management, commissioning (World Class Commissioning), knowledge and information share, networking, publication and presentation, managing inspection, health and safety process and organisational audit.

    This Associate is a highly experienced mental health practitioner/senior manager whose early career was in nursing before undertaking a wide range of strategic and senior operational management roles across mental health, primary care and higher education. She has gained significant commissioning experience as a Non Executive Director with specific delegated responsibilities as Chair of Audit and Governance. Her commitment to improving health care services and in particular the patient experience is evidenced in her work carrying out investigations and dealing with complaints. She has also chaired service reviews across large and complex health economies. She has experience with public engagement and partnership working. Within her Non Executive role she gained experience in the complexities of funded nursing care and restitution panels. As well as her depth of health and educational experience she can also bring to an organisation experience of a variety of workforce related issues and in particular mentoring and coaching senior staff drawing on her work as a neuro linguistic practitioner. She has a particular talent in the area of resolving staff grievances and as a Non Executive also chaired final stage complaints and grievance panels working with both management and staff organisations. She has gained experience in quality assurance, evidenced in her Non Executive role and her work as an external advisor for the English National Board for Nursing and Midwifery. This Associate has experience of working with different sectors of Health and Social Care including the private, voluntary organisations and social enterprises. She has an engaging, honest and concilliatory style of working with a can do attitude and a reputation of delivering the expected outcomes.

    This associate has worked as an independent consultant since 2006 and has delivered a wide range of assignments in strategic service planning and development, business development, communication and stakeholder engagement, facilitation and training and development. She is passionate about access and services to people often termed 'hard to reach' or 'disadvantaged' and is committed to ensuring equality and diversity. She is described as having an engaging, open personality and in being structured and practical in her approach to her work. She has worked with a wide range of organisations including PCTs, foundation and mental health trusts, local authorities, voluntary organisations, Drug and Alcohol Action Teams, NHS Confederation and Leadership Centre amongst others. Her earlier career in health included working in Corporate and Public Affairs (she is a qualified Marketing professional) as well as Assistant Director of Public Health.

    A delivery focused IT manager who has been a Head of IT within the NHS, who has worked on the National Programme for IT, and has specialised in data and messaging as part of the data standards team. She has rolled out a number of clinical and administrative applications at an Acute Trust including Requests and Results, Discharge Slips and TTO prescribing. She is equally at home creating strategy documents as she is programme and project managing. She has acted as a consultant by reviewing Trusts business requirements and recommended suitable IT applications to support them and has evaluated alternative applications to meet specific needs. Having previously worked in the private sector at a senior level for many years, she brings a unique and refreshing perspective to the work she does whilst also having the benefit of a 'hands-on' understanding of IT within the NHS.
